How the Pokemon Type Matchup Calculator Works

Every damaging Pokémon move has a type, and that type is compared with the defending Pokémon's type before damage is resolved. A super-effective interaction normally doubles type-based damage, a resistance halves it, and an immunity reduces it to zero. These relationships matter when choosing an attack, predicting a switch, preparing for a raid, or checking whether several team members share a weakness.
