Skarmory is a defensive Steel/Flying hazard setter with Steel/Flying typing. Steel/Flying STAB lets it pressure Fairy, Ice, Rock, Grass, Fighting, and Bug targets. Its role depends on the format, but the type-chart job is clear: use its useful resistances, immunities, or offensive pressure to force the opponent into predictable answers rather than treating it as a generic switch-in. Stats, ability choice, and legal moves still decide how aggressively it can be positioned. The weakness profile is the central part of the page: Skarmory is 2× weak to Fire and Electric. Skarmory is immune to Poison and Ground. These numbers come from the standard type chart for Steel/Flying, so ability effects, field effects, Terastallization, or format-specific rules can change an individual turn without changing the baseline matchup. Do not leave Skarmory in front of a super-effective attacker just because it has a useful offensive move in return. To use Skarmory well, bring it in through a resisted move, a pivot, a forced switch, or a revenge-kill window rather than repeated raw entries. It appreciates teammates that cover Fire and Electric pressure and create safe entries. To counter Skarmory, preserve Fire-type attackers and Electric-type attackers and pressure it before it can turn its matchup into momentum. Use the type chart first, then account for speed, bulk, ability, recovery, and revealed coverage before committing to the exchange.
