Cramorant Weaknesses in Pokémon GO: Water Festival 2026 Guide

Pokémon GO has officially announced that Cramorant will make its debut during Ultra Unlock: Water Festival, running from August 18 at 10:00 a.m. to August 24 at 8:00 p.m. local time. Cramorant will be available from Eggs, the event GO Pass, and GO Battle League reward encounters beginning at Rank 16. Read the official event announcement.

The official Pokédex lists Cramorant as a Water/Flying-type Pokémon. That typing makes it a useful matchup to prepare for, especially if you are planning event catches or future battle teams. See Cramorant in the official Pokédex.

Official facts vs. Type Matchup planning

Officially confirmed: Cramorant will debut in Pokémon GO during Water Festival; it can change form in battle; and it will not be eligible for the Competitors Cup during the event. Arrokuda and Barraskewda will also debut during the same event.

Type Matchup planning: The weakness and resistance notes below are our interpretation of Cramorant’s official Water/Flying typing through the standard type chart. They are not a promise of a Pokémon GO moveset, damage breakpoint, raid role, or PvP ranking. Pokémon GO uses its own battle values, and the moves available at release matter.

Cramorant type weaknesses

For a Water/Flying Pokémon, start with these type-chart answers:

  • Electric: super effective against both Water and Flying. This is the clearest type advantage to test first.
  • Rock: super effective against Flying.
  • Ground: has no effect against Flying in the standard type chart.
  • Fire, Water, Fighting, Bug, and Steel: are resisted by at least one part of Cramorant’s typing, so they are not the first attacking types to prioritize from a type-only perspective.

Use the Water/Flying matchup page for the complete defensive view, or enter the matchup in the type calculator. For quick counter ideas, begin with the Electric type guide and Rock type guide, then confirm the moves available in Pokémon GO before investing resources.

How to find Cramorant during Water Festival

According to Pokémon GO’s announcement, Cramorant will appear through three event paths:

  1. Eggs
  2. GO Pass
  3. GO Battle League reward encounters from Rank 16, with more frequent appearances on the premium track

The same announcement says Cramorant can change form in battle. That is an official mechanic note, but the announcement does not provide a complete competitive analysis. Treat any claims about its best league, moveset, or ranking as unconfirmed until the live game provides the relevant details.

Water Festival event checklist

The event also introduces Arrokuda and Barraskewda. The official announcement says Arrokuda can be evolved into Barraskewda with 50 Arrokuda Candy and may be found through Field Research task rewards, the GO Pass, and Rainy Lure Modules.
